I cried properly for the first time last night. Bent over, really. Eddie Izzard, you are now officially my favourite comedian.
I could NOT stop laughing at the religion jokes. "Why didn't you go say eat these carrots, for they are my arms, take this tomato, it is my head, these onions are my kneecaps?"

And the Darth/Jeff Vader. GENIUS. I was laughing so hard that the tears came out of my eyes and rolled into my...um...eyes again. They do that. "DEATH BY TRAY!!!!!!"
ALSO I WAS IN LEICESTER SQUARE LAST NIGHT AND WENT ON THE CAROUSEL 8DDDDD
It's the slowest ride there. And once it started moving, I was starting to panic that it was going too fast. In fact, I was holding onto the pole so tightly, my knuckles had gone white, and had some maniacally crazed-happy grin on my face. Gah. This is why I'm not one for rollercoasters.

Inwardly I do a lot of hardcore stuff, but actual physically? Nah.

Homework. GAH.
My least favourite subject, Measure Theory - rejoiced in having to not join a single class this week, but I have THREE of them to do. Well, maybe two. I did the first one tonight (that is to say, I did the first question and failed the rest, I'll probably have to ask the lecturer on Tuesday). And the second one shall be put off til tomorrow.
Maths Methods - TWO homeworks, did one (half of it), need to do a second one by Tuesday (done half of it).
And optional Number Theory, I know I won't get done. Oh well. Look, they have less than four questions on them but you would NEVER know how time-consuming they are.

I feel I should put something on worth here. Everyone who read the first five words of this post and instantly assumed it was an attempt at being emo...I have nothing of worth to give you.

EXCEPT for - !!!!

Yeah, old Zeus and his lightning.

...You can go now.
Everytime I watch a video about the DS version of FFIV, it's like one constant facepalm. Aaaaaargh.
Screwed up CGI (oh noes at Yang's face), stupid 3-dimensional imagery, names of all the objects have changed, dialogue has been altered...actually, the last few of those are more or less like those in the GBA version.
Playing the one released in America, where Cain was actually Kain, and Yang actually sounded like someone jumping into action (rather than a bit of a pussy)...so much better.
Also I started panicking when I saw Cecil's extra Dark attack, and stuff like Yang's Buildup, I was like I DON'T WANT MORE OF THIS

Anyway, I just watched one of them all taking on Golbez. Just before Rydia rejoins them. Firstly, Golbez is somehow floating off the ground very unrealistically - or maybe he's wearing boots so stupidly black that they've camouflaged into the background. The artwork of the original SNES one was far superior, and that was in 2D. When 2D looks better than 3D, you know you're going down. :3

I have a feeling all I do here is rant on about games, so I'll try to stop doing that for a bit. Although, I AM confused at why the levelling is so different - in DS, you have to be around level 40 to take on Golbez then, rather than 20 or 30 something in the original. And on battling the Four Fiends for the last time, you're at level 80...rather than in the 50s. I never even saw level 80. The levelling certainly seems to be different - either that or there's something even more dreadful stuck inside.

So, no uni today due to both my lecturers being away.
I thought I'd played all the SNES RPGs, but no! I found one just today called Treasure Hunter G, something like that. Awesome graphics. But...but...you make money by catching frogs in the bushes and SELLING them to be EATEN.
HOW CAN I BETRAY MY RACE LIKE THIS
HOW
...and I just made about 115 gold off the ones I did sell. NOOOOOOOOOO

Dual Orb II is another one I ought to keep playing - my party became so unstable, I had an invincible warrior, an invincible cleric who kept running out of healing, a girl from the future with a gun, and a thief with stats so bad they spelt out a negative l33t.
Tehe. I like strategic ones too, like Front Mission (which I never got far in) and Bahamut Lagoon, and yes, that other one with EXTREMELY BAD TRANSLATIONS. What was it called?...Feda, the emblem of justice.

Ahaahahaa. There was a curiously funny clip from Prince of Persia 2 someone made: www.youtube.com/watch
Man, I never even saw that glitch.
I have the most delightful and happyful grin on my face whenever I'm in this class. Maths Methods. I don't care what anyone says, I simply adore this class. I was actually on time today. Well. Sort of. Let's just say I wasn't late, like usual. Everytime I slither in twenty minutes late I feel so awful.
Which I wouldn't usually, but this is MATHS METHODS.
It's not the teacher, because there was somebody else teaching it last year and I still loved every moment of it, despite how long-winded and time-consuming so much of it was. It's the subject.

No wonder I can't stand Measure Theory. The guy teaching Measure Theory hates Maths Methods. :3

I was going to talk about what game now...Castlevania. Oh yes. You know, I absolutely love RPGs. Probably my favourite genre - the only thing being that the games are exceedingly long, but that's part of what it makes so epic.

The new Castlevania ones for GBA (should I say "more recent") are in some kind of RPG-style, with EXP and levelling and potions and such...and I really don't like it. It's Castlevania. It's got savepoints and stuff, but it never USED to. How can you turn a classic platformer into an RPG just like that?

It certainly doesn't feel right, either. I don't WANT to collect healing potions. I don't want to go around killing obstinately stupid monsters until I suddenly get better - also, there seems to be a bloody map of the entire place, like Super Metroid. Now, I love Super Metroid, but Castlevania is nowhere near that kind of level of awesome. You're supposed to have one path, like all the other games! Platformer with a MAP?

And where's Kevin gone? Instead I'm faced with this revoltingly hot-looking character who looked like he wandered out of Vampire Knight. And every other character looks like a vampire; I'm *slightly* sick of vampires. Kevin was better. He killed vampires, for goodness sake.

On the other hand, this vampire-character thing that I'm controlling does have this cool whipping cloak thing. And like a Shunpo ability, even if it keeps pushing him in the wrong direction.
Nah. I'll stick to old-skool. As usual.

Hmm. What was I going to write here again?
Oh yeah. I made a dumb post about a month ago. Ignore it.
And the one I made about Game Spot about...MONTHS ago? That was Game Focus. Graah.

Humm. So there is someone on my contact list called Adrian. When they log in, I get confused.
They are also the complete opposite of me. They went on about tattoos (I would never have one), they sound like an extrovert yet never would have said a lot beyond hello if I had not tried to extend beyond that (I'm introverted yet am very vocal)...oh. And despite being my age, they've got two kids. Apparently miscarriages.
And they're a girl too. That just took the biscuit.

Also, NES RPGs really don't hit it for me. I tried, I really did. FF1 and 2...I couldn't.
That was BEFORE I realised that the reason none of my characters actually bloody hit anything was because of the same reason you can miss in Lufia! Attacking the same enemy at once will not work - it will be "ineffective" if they're already dead when you decide to target them! I only just realised that...oh man.

Soul Blazer. I love the game, but after painstakingly getting past the volcano bit at Durean, getting a new sword and everything, I hit the wrong key, the game sped up at 9 million % speed, and frantically I killed it. And my save. Graaah.
I could do it again in five minutes, just couldn't be bothered really.

AND AND NO MEASURE THEORY NEXT WEEK!!!! HA! 8DDDDD
...though I've been given three homeworks instead. Grrr.
And my sister's now 18, hoohoo, bringing back balloons and a toy Kon from Bleach, and a Death Note book. And my parents are all disapproving because her friends have been spending money on her. It's not like it's 50 quid, it's about £12...goodness me, why doesn't anyone here like helping out their friends? They seem pretty new to the concept. Just as well they didn't find out the last birthday presents I languished upon someone. :3
Actually that's a bit hypocritical of me too - before the last birthday, I had never bought anyone a birthday present. Ever. I did that second to last one in secret though, and it did feel good.

And ahaaaaa I downloaded loads of Disney songs, but before burning them onto CD I ought to get the Jungle Book's ones too....hmm. Oh, the memories of the Beatles as the vultures.

Schmar Wars I am still working on, but by hand so it's going to be preeeeeetty slow I suppose. Until I get to a proper computer.
Well yeah, I AM on a computer, but the difference is that on here I switch onto Earthbound in an instant and forget all else, and besides I should probably type up stuff at uni. Like those FFIV parodies I was doing and never finished because nobody would get them except me and the population of gremlins in my immediately locality.

I just realised the music in Earthbound sucks. Sheer sucketh, though it is one of the best games I've ever played. You face enemies like Cranky Old Lady who uses attacks such as "mutter about declining manners of youth" which lower your toughness rating.
The last one I did, I came to Happy-Happy Village, where everyone is in the religion of Happy-happyism.
i.e. they paint everything blue. Not so much as a religion as being controlled by AN EVIL MANI-MANI STATUE SENT BY GIYGAS
-no, seriously now.

Oh. And Sela are me are a bit sick of frogs now. So skinks and snakes for a while. Just because you're settled doesn't mean you can't change.
I wonder if I'll ever get to finish the Wheel of TIme series. On Book 3 now, I've barely read any of it. Despite it being epicly amazing. I was going to do a bit of my own daemon story, but...like all my stories it seems to have lain bare for these past weeks. Lack of motivation AGAIN.

And my Measure Theory coursework is still giving me pains, on account of being Difficult. And abstract. Very abstract.
Also, methinks I shall not tell my family anything more about my interests with Disney, I told my sister about my obsession with Disney and she said I was going a bit far even in terms of childishness. In fact, I was regressing. And then my dad started making jokes about it, which didn't really help. Well, I trust my sister on a lot of things, but Disney will stay away for a while, I hope.

After a certain amount of time, I drift away from everything. I lose myself. I'm slowly but surely caring less and less about much on TDF (although Kris is back, yaaay). Daemon story is untouched, despite Meserta's bit just left to do. FFIV scripts left bare. Haven't talked to a single friend at uni in almost a month, probably because the thought of anyone talking to me has made me flinch concerning everything else. And the one friend I'm talking to now, I'm being extremely evasive of.

And Sigma Star is being stupid. The only walkthrough there isn't hugely helpful, either. Yeah, I can see I'm going to lose myself in games if this carries on, so maybe I should go back to reading The Dragon Reborn.

Heh, another thing. Everytime I pick up the Shite, or rather the Lite, which is the trashy newspaper handed out free in Central London, I end up ploughing through to the back page to the crossword or something. And then those fake horoscopes are over there, which I read for a laugh. Course, they're always written as if they would apply to a character out of a soap opera, but I can't help thinking that they're meant for people who actually associate with other people. And I don't, so it comes out looking stupid in my eyes. :3

Ahahaha. That guy, L's friend, who took my number at that "party". Call it a Christian party or something. And said he'd call me last week to invite me to a Christian cell. Well he hasn't. :3 Thank goodness for that.

This is quite an appropriate time to quote the lines of this Earthbound boss you have to fight! He's this hellish creature who comes forward and says: "I'll see you burning in h-" then he stops himself, and quickly says, "Well, you'll go to heaven!"
Hell is the opposite of heaven philosophically, hehe.

Though, it would make no sense to have a heaven, because as television demonstrates well, you can't please everyone. And by process of elimination, hell doesn't exist either. I was so upset when I found that out. I wanted to torture people and watch them burn. :c
That makes me think now, I should write another of my explicit gory poems :3

Hmm.
I have these funny prejudices with games. After asking around what the best RPG for GBA was, and having crowds of GOLDEN SUN GOLDEN SUN!!!!! screamed at me (hoohoo, I spelt that as golden fun the first time round) I played that, and then why did I dislike it? Because they nodded too much. Yep. It's an anime trait which irritates me, along with the "This is..." with a 45-second gap whilst wondering if they'll ever finish their sentence, some unintelligent girl in a skirt who is completely useless and keeps gasping as if she's breathing through a vacuum cleaner and her only lines are to shout the main character's name as if she's trying out for Most Irritating Cheerleader Of The Month Award, dramatising everything that ever happens, characters which have a sword through them or get shot five billion times yet SOMEHOW survive, etc. etc.

Alright, didn't mean to rant on about anime there. Actually I was going to rant on about games.
Anyway, after getting past the loooooooong intro of Golden Sun I realised they stopped nodding for a while and it was actually a pretty bloody good game. I got to the next town and then forgot all about it. 8D
Oh well, I'll probably remember it later. Like Illusion of Gaia, which I tried to complete a second time and never really got round to it.

What I was going to write here...Golden Sun has a huge intro - "intro" as in everything that happens (including things the player is free to do) up to the point when you find out what the POINT of the game is. Like, in Golden Sun you don't find out the main plot until you've dodged falling rocks, been beaten senseless by two mysterious high-level punks, wander around the town for half an hour, get through a very large dungeon, solve four-five puzzles and almost get killed, get one of your members taken hostage and THEN you find out it's thing about the gemstones whatchamacallit.

So yes. I shall make a list of some games, how long the intros are...here we go.

Final Fantasy II - fairly short, you fly from an airship and the King fires you from your job. UNLESS of course, you mean the main plot is until you meet Golbez for the first time, up to which you'll have to wait until you get through several bosses and wind up at Fabul and get beaten up by your best friend.

Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest - ALMOST INSTANTANEOUS. Basically, it's like this. Earthquake. Old man appears. You jump onto another cliff. He says, you must be the chosen one, you say, no I'm not, a GREAT BIG BEHEMOTH APPEARS BEHIND YOU, you kill it (as long as you don't miss too much), and then you say, Gosh, blimey, I guess I must be the chosen one, old man says yeah you are, now go find these crystals. And bye. And he disappears. Plot done.

Seriously, FFMQ shouldn't even belong in the series. I know I've ranted on about this on TDF, but...really? Dialogue is off, plot is off, game is bloody EASY. It's designed for people who don't like RPGs. If you find the game hard, an RPG of normal standard will just turn you into mincemeat. I completed it (and it was the first game I did complete, at least without cheats or walkthroughs) and was really ecstatic at first, like you do when you finish your first game ever, but anyone could beat this game with their hands behind their back. Yeah. Hit the keys with your NOSE. There's a speedrun of someone beating the game in over an hour - and the final boss you can beat in two moves. Ok, maybe three.

However, the music is just kickass. It kept me going through the game. :3
Anyway, moving on...

Earthbound - moderate length, you wake up, police arrive, you go back to bed, wake up again, see asteroid is there, Buzz Buzz arrives, you beat up some alien trooper, Buzz Buzz gets swatted to death by your friend's mum, and plot unfolds. Sounds ridiculous, but that's what makes it unique.

Breath of Fire - short intro, so wastes no time getting you off to a fine start.

Lufia - Aha. This is interesting. You play in the PAST, as the previous heroes, and then you relive the...not-so-distant past? I think. And then the next town gets attacked, you go over there, run back, run there again, evil guys arrive and club you to death. Sort of.

Final Fantasy V - I never really got into this game. But the intro is pretty straightforward. Wind stops, and that princess person goes looking for her daddy, runs into main character with no name, and there you go. They really already told you the whole story in the cutscenes. Although, if the plot actually picks up later, I'll have missed it because it failed to hold my attention that long. :3
Wait. That wind stopping - isn't that stolen from Rolante from Seiken Dentetsu 3? Or whichever came first.

Chrono Trigger - Now this DOES take a while. You go the fair, the princess wants to go out with you, she gets sucked into the past, you follow her, Time Differences mess stuff up, you have to rescue her, battle through a castle/cathedral, beat up the boss, back into the present, take her home, get dumped in jail for being kind-hearted, fight your way out, beat another boss, run away with the princess and an inventor who uses fire, get sucked into the FAR future, go around beating up robots, beat up another boss, go a looooong way and eventually you'll find out why you have to save the world.

It's long, but eventful. And it certainly is very unique. It also isn't as predictable as some other games, and there's even a frog. Not that the princess kisses the frog or anything.
Of course not.

Well, can't be bothered to list any others.
On a completely unrelated note...I just LOVE Mathematical Methods.
Hmm. I really must listen to this frog on my shoulder more. First I want to go out with people a lot, and then I remember that I ought to be staying away from people and they clash. Whereas it's like *blink* and NO YOU DON'T, WAKE UP AGAIN
Tosser.

So my friend invited me to one of her things again. Games night this time - of course, all her friends are around, which all belong to these Christian cell things. They're extremely friendly. They're nicer than me, and that's saying something. *arrogance*
And I mention that I have no interest in religion, but everyone I talk to has something on the lines of "I used to be like that too, but then I opened my heart up to Him, and now..." Now I'm not quite sure how to say into words...I do actually know what you're talking about, because I went to Sunday school when I was little and everything, but I'm non-religious and want to stay that way. I'm not agnostic, I'm pretty much anti.

But they're just too nice. Honestly, the prizes at the games night were simply a load of sweets and chocolate - they even gave a mugful to the newcomers (i.e. including me) and I tried sharing them with everyone around me, but would anyone even take one? Just one? No. The girl next to me, however (who, shall I add here, happened to be the utmost cutest girl in the entire room of a few hundred people) didn't mind taking Jelly Bean mints.
Oh, and one of the guys took down my number - after suggesting that he ring me up to let me know when they have a cell session. I don't want to go to one of their cells where all they do is pray and worship. Why they fuck would you need to worship anything, anyway? Sela helps me with everything I need, and I damn well don't worship him.
There's nothing wrong with Christians at all, of course. I'd just rather not talk to those who keep trying to suggest I could actually be religious. I may be gullible about some things, but really not this.

Anyway, everyone I talked to there...they're just so good. I would say they're innocent and naive or something?...only they're grown adults or kids. If I'd stood at the front and invited the audience to have a drink with me at the local pub, I bet there'd be a shocked silence as everyone slowly shuffled away from me.
I happen to like pubs. So there. :3

And, this thing about everyone-going-O.o-when-I-say-I-study-maths-and-go-to-a-London-uni is getting really old. You know, this is why conversing with new people about my studies has a duration of less than a nanosecond - the instant I say I study maths, every girl in my vicinity goes "Ooh, you must be brilliant" and then wanders off to talk to someone who studies something that they understand a little. Doesn't ANYONE appreciate the finer points of maths? I know they're out there, it's just that they're not readily available in the general public. If liking maths was a sign of intelligence (which, apparently, it seems to be) then your average person on the street seems to be as thick as a plank.

Good grief. I even tried having a decent conversation with one of the other boys. We started talking about video games, which I love talking about, but apparently he can't think of a game that's more older-skool than Age of Empires.
Honestly, I remember when I thought that game had the new generation of graphics. Mario he's heard of, at least. I didn't even get started on NES, because like every single conversation that day the talk lasted about 40 seconds.

Oh. And.
I DEFEATED RIPTO IN SPYRO 2. AT LAST. I WON I WON
GBA version, that is. Doesn't sound so impressive now :3
Considering I hadn't played Season of Flame for months though, I was quite pleased. Now I have to get all the other fairies and gems to unlock Dragonfly X, which also involves beating impossible sports levels which I could never do.

You do realise that in the first Spyro GBA game, you had to get EVERY SINGLE FAIRY to even be able to fight the boss at the end? That was crazy. It meant doing every assault course and everything! It was near-impossible to even progress to the next world, let alone get 100%.
Also, I am sick to death of Mesa Market and that stupid level with the army of hummingbirds. Yeah, Hummingbird Fort I think. I started dreaming about Rhynocs targeting me with bazookas, because I had to redo that level so many times.

And the other night, I thought I'd retry the first world of Spyro?...And I've done half of it already. I have not died ONCE.
I've built up to eleven fucking lives. It's feelings like this that make you see how it's possible to win at some of the old NES games :)
On Spyro 3, Attack of the Rhynocs...I got stuck somewhere, really. But it was really good up to then.

Rayman is another guy I'd probably put alongside Spyro. I remember playing him back when I was little on the Playstation. Pity the GBA version has slightly warped-down music...but the PS version had you memorising codes just to save, heh.
Still haven't completed Season of Flame yet but...the music at the title screen I simply adore. I do.

Moonsorrow, trains, Lagon

Moonsorrow tabs...I thought I did all of the first demo album and the second one after that! I definitely did the first one, there were two songs there and that was it. I only got halfway through the second album?....Well, I can't tell this chord apart.
And I could actually tab the entirety of probably EVERY song in my head. With a CD player. I don't even have to rewind or anything, I can do it on my own.

Honestly, if you call yourself Finntroll, nobody's going to be able to tell that you're actually from Sweden instead of Finland.

Also, I'm getting a little sick of having to run all the way to the station just in time to see my train leave without me. Even if it is the only lecture all day. And regarding my story, everyone seems to love Lagon. Now Meserta can turn invisible, Ryden can do that fire thing, Gamen can sizzle people, Tani does the ceiling-fall-down thing, Natalial has a raven on her shoulder...even Sennce has a few weapons. And then Isira with her ninja!sword.

What can Lagon do? He does NOTHING. In fact, he has done nothing of use so far. Apart from being charged with a mission and all that. And having visions of ravens. So why does everyone love him? Can't be *just* because he has a cool name or anything....
...Okay, maybe it is because he has a cool name. And his daemon's a hummingbird.
What a hypocrite I am. I just churned out seven page where Lagon does something huge. Well not huge, but he SEES something. Gah.
And Meserta's scenes are hard to write somehow. Probably because Kaila's with him, and she has to speak bloody Latin. Of course she does.

My electrodes say I will drop dead from typing, so I'm going to bed.

Gamestop

I've never been to Gamestop before. I didn't even KNOW there was one on Goodge Street.
So I though oh my god I'm in retro heaven. I was in the same room as a fucking Super Nintendo cartridge. Honestly, I ought to have cried with happiness, but I didn't, so I squeed instead.
I walked for HOURS last month trying to find retro games. I walked to bloody Fleet Street and ended up in the middle of nowhere (except a load of cars). AND THIS WAS JUST HERE ON MY DOORSTEP.
Hmm. I would usually post this in Shout in TDF...but I'm not going to post in Shout or TS anymore. It's getting boring, and rather depressing. Probably just lurk, maybe. Reasons to post at all: 1. See what others are up to, maybe help them out and 2. Rant and maybe someone will help you out. Unfortunately (1) does not apply because nobody has those kinds of problems much anymore, and (2) I do not have any actual problems as yet....perhaps I just woke up to this when I held three GBAs in my hands and was truly happy for once in a while.

Hmm.
Now this would be interesting. When I die, all my knowledge will be lost...so...I will enscribe a bit of my knowledge into these entries every now and again.
You know, stuff I've picked up on my own.
This section, you could refer to it as a time capsule. There will be no record of this anywhere else.

Songs? Riff. That is essential. But at the same time - you need harmony! Power metal is an excellent example of this. I - VI(minor) - VII (minor) - I. Or, if you want to be technical about it!...Tonic, Submediant, Leading note! And back to tonic! This is for minor keys - in the major key you must DIMINISH VI and VII.
For example, in A minor, you would use Amin - F - G - Amin. No diminishing, no augmentation - all fine.
C major, however...C - Aflat - Bflat - C.

With that kind of sequence you could make millions. I'm serious. Actually, with that you could start it off - but you need to know how the rest of the music works, see? Otherwise it'll be completely worthless. And you need variation, or the listener will get bored, and...put on a display. Not of performance outwardly, although that'll help later, but...ornamentation? Trills, turns, apoggiaturas, acciaccaturas - actually, these are viewed on a basis of music theory, and only the first few are present in power metal. There you have insane shredding instead, which is key for the epic atmosphere.

But the I - VI - VII is just the beginning. Experiment. Don't forget the subdominant and dominant forms - this is an aspect of folk music, too. If you want a real epic feel, dominant MINOR. Excellent, truly.

Now, since only the minority will understand what I'm talking about, let's go back to whatever I was on about anyway.

I forgot what I was going to say now.
Oh yeah. Hey Adrian. Don't say you're immune to swine flu or anything, because you know what'll happe-
Oh crap I said it. Nothing happened though. :3

And it's relatively cool outside (or it used to be) so I didn't have to worry about being fried alive, although evidently I will as soon as I step outside, but this is also not a worry because obviously as soon as I perform the Rain Dance all my problems will dissipate in an instant.

Metaphorically, of course.

Good morning, all!
It is irrefutably morning, though in the mind of Those Of The Past Day it would be a very late night. 2:33 am.
Still, I should say that I HAVE COMPLETED METROID ZERO MISSION AT LAST

Yes, I used a walkthrough at the last bit because I got VERY lost. Sue me. It was only for the last five minutes of the game.
Honestly, the final boss is piss easy. Compared to the Mother Brain, whom I finally DID manage to smash to bits, did a victory spin around the room, with my hands still shaking possibly from all the adrenaline, and then realised OHSHIT I HAVE TO ESCAPE, fell in the lava out of panic, failed to climb up the ledges quickly enough, and died. Splat.
But I got it the next time round, and was like \mm/-\mm/ for ages and then realised OHSHIT THE GAME HASN'T FINISHED YET which is why it got even better.

And now I'm using a proper walkthrough to complete the game - again - with 100% item retrieval, since I did it with only 59% the first time.
What I do not understand - this shinesparkle thing? Yes, you can use this special charge-run with it. And there's this room next to the Map room in which I use it - and HOW am I supposed to go through with the charge thing?? There's a bloody DOOR in the way!!! And you can't shoot whilst in the charge mode! Also, as soon as you try to shoot, you LOSE the charge mode, and that negates the whole point of the thing! I can't figure it out.

Anyway, there's still Super Metroid, finally got the Gravity Suit, entered Maridia, spent about an hour trying to get into a secret passage which was completely optional, and got almost nowhere. Oh well.

I realise I talk about games WAY too much on here. After all, my life isn't completely dependent on games.

...I think.

Well, I hope not. There are other things. None which are compatible with games. Grrrragh.
I hate Kraid. He's a bastard.
Samus is a bastard too, when she refuses to jump high enough. No, the fault is NOT with my fingers pressing the wrong buttons, it is obviously with her. Huh.

I should talk about something else, you know.
Great. University subjects for next year. I still have to choose, and options are VERY limited. Why should I have to take Galois Theory?

The computer in Metroid Fusion sounds like HAL.
Just wait until he tries to murder Samus.

Hmm. So usually at a time like this I would rant on TDF. What would I rant on about? Oh yes. General error. Unforunately, General Error has decidedly prevented me from ranting on about general error, which makes perfect sense and seems to constitute to creating a fundamental general error in my consequential pattern of thoughts so SCREW YOU ALL.

Anyway, I finished watching all of HCBailly's series of his CT LP, including his takes of the different endings.

OH MY GOSH. Yikes. I really was not prepared then, was I?

And now I'm into Advance Wars, woohoo. This is quite fun.
Now if only TDF could stop doing General bloody Error, and the absence of irritations could stop telling me to punch people in the face, and.....

Also I got into Metroid Fusion, which is pretty damn good too. I is full of randomness.

And the crossword is impossible as usual.
The last crossword clue is "Aid to Puzzlers". Oh yeah.
Guidelines on getting to sleep:
1. Take an early night.
2. Shower properly.
3. Let it be pitch black.
4. Let there be VERY few people in the house.
5. Let there be absolute silence.

I checked every single one of those last night. ALL OF THEM. Yet I got no more than one or two hours of sleep. Whilst desperately TRYING to sleep. I didn't even get to sleep until the bloody morning. (Though then again, my early night in is technically also in the morning)

I considered not even coming into work, but it's only two days. Oh well. I'm alright now as long as I blink every few seconds. Still bloody tired. It's like having a mandatory all-nighter when you desperately don't want one.

So, I have bought some PC games - some proper games - for the first time in, oh, only forever. But since it's been such a long time, things have moved on, so that my idea of "high-quality game with superb graphics and huge hard disk usage" has now been overtaken by the general public's alternative view of Nintendo DS or Wii. The Wii doesn't even have many good games. They put in sports and make you get up and use your body, waving around an invisible hockey racket and deluding you into thinking you've got better at it. You're not MEANT to use your muscles in video games. You're meant to use as few as possible, stare at the screen for hours until your eyes pop out, twiddling the buttons, and turn into a couch potato, thus deterring all other citizens of your average household from coming within your immediate or indeed moderate vicinity.

Anyway, I bought Red Alert 2, in a similar vein to the other C&C games except that playing the Soviet side was INFINITELY more pleasurable (I was especially delighted when the first mission was to destroy the Pentagon) and you get a very hot Russian lieutenant. o:
Also, Dragonshard I liked immensely. And Sacred Underworld! That's more my kind of game. Classic RPG. Now if only they would take out the depressing music, perhaps I could enjoy it a little. There isn't much music, actually. There's more just sound effects.

Well, to add onto that one I've decided to work through the walkthrough of 7th Saga - a game so old-school that you can feel the difficultly level from an empty console. Still bloody good. But alas, the problem with such games, or with most games (if it does indeed constitute a problem at all) is that we keep on dying. And dying sucks.
Stupid batteries. If I recharge you, you do NOT die after half an hour. That is the whole POINT of buying a bloody recharger in the first place. I even got Tales of Phantasia, GBA form. Ooh noooooo-one sells GBA games anymore...EXCEPT at the bottom row, with a load of childish looking games like Scooby Doo and Monster Mansion. And then Tales of Phantasia!! One of my all-time favourites. Except the batteries won't last long enough to even get me to the second boss.

So, I found some things which really made me smile these past few days.
A guy made an LP of Soul Blazer. LP = Let's Play, by the way, basically he just makes a series of videos where he works through the game to the end. He does the most hilarious commentary over the top. Like, I've completed Soul Blazer a few times so I pretty much know what he's going to do.

But like, in the second world, and you can speak to plants and animals and everything, you have to save all the souls in the world, and the guy complains that we're saving dogs and crocodiles and birds. And moles. He goes on and and ON about his cats. He keeps yelling I WANT TO SAVE THE KITTIES!!!! And then when we get to the third last world, we do save a lot of cats :p And mice.
Because it's such an old game, he keeps pointing out what's wrong with it. ("How are you supposed to CRY underwater? Now I KNOW mouse holes aren't human sized.

Heh, he got through to Deathtoll, the final boss, and beat him with one bit of HP left. Fantastic.
Like, you have to collect all 8 of the Master's Emblems to obtain the Magic Bell, which apparently gives you the ULTIMATE POWER of magic. Now, collecting all those Emblems is bloody hard. You can't do it with looking at the walkthrough, really. And the ULTIMATE POWER is....well, you can cast magic without using up any Gems. But since he had collected about 2000 Gems by this point, that didn't do much.

But I was laughing pretty much through the whole thing, so yeah. :)
Now I'm watching him LP my favourite game of all time: Chrono Trigger. SNES version, not the new remake. It's so funny because there's cats galore :D
His screenname on Youtube is HCBailly, and I just love these videos. :3 He's done some of Final Fantasy....5 and 7, I think? Maybe FF4 as well. But I want to see all of the Illusion of Gaia LP (sequel to Soul Blazer).

OH AND TERRANIGMA.
I LOVE TERRANIGMA TO DEATH.
But Chrono Trigger has time travel so yeah.

The only thing I didn't like was when Frog entered and he was like, "A FROG? I HATE frogs?" and my expression was :(((((((((
See why I love that game now, it's got time travel, a princess, a talking robot from the future, an inventor, prehistoric stuff, teleportation, magic, dinosaurs, AND A FROG KNIGHT.

He was turned into a frog, ok? And there's like 12 different endings, and in one of them the princess kisses the frog and he goes back to a human. If you kill a particular dark wizard.
He's also called Frog. Yeah.

Pity he doesn't have red eyes.

On the Buddy Exchange, I used to do this with the person I was paired with up. I think it was Keegan, actually. We kept it up for quite some time :)

So here goes nothing.

1. My least favourite part of mathematics is Hyperbolic Partial Differential Equations with Applications
2. The number of letters in the word which is my favourite colour has a value which is less than twice the magnitude of Pi
3. I have played Spyro: Season of Ice on the computer, and not on the GBA, despite actually having bought the bloody thing for the GBA, which should really be played on the GBA, and wasn't that the whole reason I actually BOUGHT it at all, when I was already playing it on the computer in the first place, but you must realise that my tone of voice in this sentence, and it is a sentence, my tone of voice in this sentence does NOT mean that this is a TRUTH.
I HAVE MY GBA AND I AM HAPPY
I CAN PLAY SPYRO 2 TO MY SATISFACTION ON A REAL GBA
...or until the batteries run out, which will be quite soon, and then I will rant on about them running out, especially since they're not rechargeable.
Yes. Note to self, buy proper batteries. Charger is crappy. Do you know how long I've wanted a GBA of my own? And now I have it. I wonder if I'd ever have been settled if I didn't get one...hmm, I probably would have been actually, but I'd have to get something of equal importance. It started off being extremely difficult to control Spyro, but then I trimmed 95% of my thumbnail and everything was much easier :p

Please, the guitar solo in Black Roija by Kalmah is AMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAZING.
Zing. Yes. I heard it just now. And I will probably hear it again when I go through Kalmah's old albums again. Melodic-death-metal-which-sound-like-viking-metal FTW. There is some music you just have to die for. And solos.

Note to self again: join some societies when you get back to uni. I will forget this, I know I will. Rock&Metal Society I already go to anyway, despite the bouncers never letting me in the clubs with their bloody ID rule, Chess Club died on me when I lost the 18th game or so, but Sci&Fantasy Club and Young Writers Society.....I WANT. Seriously, I need to make new friends. IRL, that is.

And I don't HAVE to take Galois Theory next year. It's abstract. I don't get abstract stuff. My dad seems to keep putting emphasis on it, though. But I don't have to do it. There's always Biomathematics, which studies....kind of biology and mathematics. How big a bird has to be before it can fly and stuff. I would love that, for daemon lulz, except it utilises Applied Maths...splat.

Hey, so people are reading my daemon story after all. I needed some more convincing :)
Some stuff you just don't forget.

<lj:music>Racer X - Poison Eyes</lj:music>

Woo, I'm settled. Red-eyed green tree frog. Big surprise there, we obviously all thought I was going to be a 40-foot tall cyclops which has genetically mutated to be blind in both eyes. Oh wait, it only has one eye. A logically obstrusive cyclops then. Which is also 40-foot tall. Not that I know how tall that is, because I think in metres.

The prospect of settling used to be something that I'd be frightened of, much like growing up. Or maybe settling IS a form of growing up? But no, it's not that bad actually. After jumping around screaming for ages in utter happiness (screaming quietly, by the way, because it was half past one in the morning at the time) the impact of settledom finally settled on Sela, and then HE started jumping around, like frogs do. And then we had a huge headmate argument, which could almost constitute a party if not for the absence of balloons.

Ha. Ha- eh no. Settled, now what? It doesn't really end there, but it's more the beginning. I'm not quite sure what it's the beginning of, but it's something alright. Now I want it to rain so I can jump in puddles.
No, not really, but that would be such a fwoggish thing to do. The Almight Batfrog approves.

And you know, or maybe you don't, but apparently there's something which is supposed to trigger your settling? Like a first kiss or something. Only it obviously wasn't a first kiss, because I remember that and it was major suckage. Hmm. You may laugh, but I have reason to think it was the act of buying that Gameboy yesterday. Seriously. When I was in my early teens, I wanted a Gameboy, PS1, etc. just like everyone else, only unlike most people I wasn't able to get it. My parents said I'd grow out of it. Well, old skooooool is STILL old-school, so I'm really doing what I'd wanted to do in my childhood. Brings together childhood and adulthood together - bam, settledom. One way of looking at it, anyway.

So settling could mean you're growing up, but not necessarily. I'm like a child and an adult at the same time. A child wouldn't be able to do stuff like Fourier transforms and second order partial differential equations. But an adult wouldn't be able to focus imagination at the kind of degree as to turn this world inside out, and outside in again, until everything is no longer recognisable, nor would they still have their toys on their bed each night, or pretend to be a bird half the time. So I'm a childish adult, I guess. Or maybe just a childish little teenager. (Yes, twenty does end with "teen").

Now perhaps someone could explain why on earth I ended up making this into an essay about my opinions on settling, preferably not you, because you just read it, didn't you?

Damnit. I'm deserting my story. I know this feeling. But I'm introducing some of the most awesome characters to come into the script, and I suck at introducing characters. Ack.
Also, not many people appear to be online- ah. Change "not many" to "none". This could be to do with the stupidly late hour.

Ten minutes from now, Adrian and Sela became settled a day ago.
Him, stop whistling at us, and Her, stop egging him on. Good grief.

I miss music. And lately it's been declining. But now hopefully Racer X are drawing it back up again. Even lost sight of my daemon for ages, yet the voice was clearer...blood living like a zombie.
What the hell? Turning this up to full volume affects the actual volume in no way whatsoever!

Thank you, Spyro. Thank you very much. I love you with a particular disturbing obsession in that, when nothing in life seems lively or in fact favourable in any way, despite nothing actually going wrong - and then you turn up. I'm at the last bits of the Spring Fairy World. Damnit, I can never get those assault courses though, but sport games aren't really my thing unless the aim of the game is to sabotage everyone else's vehicles.

You have ALSO crashed my computer; not just crashing it, but causing it to use up so much memory that it overheats to a dangerous level and quickly shuts itself off so as to not, for example, endanger any humans who happen to be in the vicinity, such as, for example, my very person. Actually, that's more the emulator. But ZSNES always worked, so why not VBA?

Ah well. So I went to EBay to buy an actual GBA, and stupidly remembered afterwards that I ought to do it on Amazon instead, so did it on there instead. And bought the two Spyro games I do want - nobody really sells GBAs anymore, unless you want a 30 quid on SP, so some of them will have to be second-hand. At least Spyro 2 I got as new.

Games cut you off from everything; you forget about friends, the world outside, events taking place, everything. Admittedly, I had TDF open at the same time, but the stuff in Feedback is getting ridiculous.

At least I could see Sela again :) I think we really are settled now. Now, just for an appropriate time to say so. But why should I say so? Hmm. I'll just mention it at some point. Knowing me, it'll probably at the completely wrong moment, like in the middle of a huge debate in TS regarding teeth decay.

Work tomorrow, and I have no clue where I'm actually working. Oh well, I'll have to ask round at Temporary Staffing on the way in and get them to direct me to the right department.

Hmm. I need a new addiction. Well, my current one is perfectly fine, but what about afterwards? I should buy more similar games. They're out there. When I was younger, I wanted a PlayStation, Gameboy, Gamecube...everything. And my parents said I'd forget about it and stop using them if they got me any. Well, I haven't. It's never to late to replay the part of your childhood that you really want to live.

How many ways are there to live?
Too many, and they can be pretty hard to attain.

Randomly, roasting the chicken means DO NOT SKIN IT. Now we know.
You know, I don't think I bought any meat last year when I was living out. Maybe sausages, and I used someone else's grill pan for that. That was about it.

Damnit, I need to talk to more people. But Spyro keeps butting in. Curse you, adorable little purple dragon.
The above statement is in no way meant to offend the population of purple dragons here on Earth. Dragonism is outlawed here.

Hmm. Came into work this morning, and the people there I recognised, because I'd worked with them before. Unlike my previous job, this was a workplace I really didn't mind. I felt safe here. Probably because they're more my kind of people.
And then it turns out I'm not meant to work here at all, they mixed me up with someone else, because they suck, and bloody NHS is disorganised, so the only other work is on one day only. And I consider it, and I turn it down. That may be a little stupid of me, except that the jo is answering phones all day. Usually it's not so bad after the first few, but it really didn't follow well in my ears at the time. Get up early, come into Edgware just to answer phone calls. It really didn't translate well. Besides, I've already done a whole month of work - two months, actually, so I ought to have a break.
Oh yeah. And when I got home ages ago I lied to my dad about it and said they didn't have any work for the whole month. And about my timesheet, pretended it was signed when actually nobody had time to sign it yet. But it'll blow over, of course, and won't make any difference.

And I got paid a few days ago! So I thought I'd spend some of my money. Video games and books!!!!!

For video games...looking in Broadwalk, all the PC games weren't really very good. Age of Empires III. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, something like that. Maybe I've been stuck in old-school stuff too long, but all the huge graphics didn't seem....necessary. There were games I could download for free which I'd enjoy far more. So didn't buy any games.

WHSmith. Books. Book 3 of Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time. Let's see...they have Book 4, Book, 5, Book 7, Book 11....WHERE IS BOOK 3??? YOU BASTARDS. They had Jarka Ruus, which I'd read before and wasn't very good. Shannara, by the way. So didn't buy any books.

It was at this kind of point where I thought about how much I was missing out.
It was ALSO later that I realised that there is a GBA version of a later Spyro the Dragon release!!!!! Which I am currently addicted to!!!!!
I adore Spyro. He's fantastic. I've played this game for about...mmm....three and a half hours non-stop? I even forgot to go on MSN. That's how addictive it was. And all you do is fight enemies, pick up crystals, jump around and repeat. My eyes hurt and I'm sure they must be bloodshot. Again. Man, I haven't felt like this since the peak of Chrono Trigger and Terranigma series.

Oh, I must remember to eat.
I just deleted a load of text after this line. You'll never know what it is. Actually that's a lie. It was a list of things I ought to tell you before I drop dead as an outcome of being digested by a shark.
Not a shark, but the other thing.
Yeah, pasta.
