I cried properly for the first time last night. Bent over, really. Eddie Izzard, you are now officially my favourite comedian.
I could NOT stop laughing at the religion jokes. "Why didn't you go say eat these carrots, for they are my arms, take this tomato, it is my head, these onions are my kneecaps?"

And the Darth/Jeff Vader. GENIUS. I was laughing so hard that the tears came out of my eyes and rolled into my...um...eyes again. They do that. "DEATH BY TRAY!!!!!!"
ALSO I WAS IN LEICESTER SQUARE LAST NIGHT AND WENT ON THE CAROUSEL 8DDDDD
It's the slowest ride there. And once it started moving, I was starting to panic that it was going too fast. In fact, I was holding onto the pole so tightly, my knuckles had gone white, and had some maniacally crazed-happy grin on my face. Gah. This is why I'm not one for rollercoasters.

Inwardly I do a lot of hardcore stuff, but actual physically? Nah.

Homework. GAH.
My least favourite subject, Measure Theory - rejoiced in having to not join a single class this week, but I have THREE of them to do. Well, maybe two. I did the first one tonight (that is to say, I did the first question and failed the rest, I'll probably have to ask the lecturer on Tuesday). And the second one shall be put off til tomorrow.
Maths Methods - TWO homeworks, did one (half of it), need to do a second one by Tuesday (done half of it).
And optional Number Theory, I know I won't get done. Oh well. Look, they have less than four questions on them but you would NEVER know how time-consuming they are.

I feel I should put something on worth here. Everyone who read the first five words of this post and instantly assumed it was an attempt at being emo...I have nothing of worth to give you.

EXCEPT for - !!!!

Yeah, old Zeus and his lightning.

...You can go now. Shoo.

You know who had awesome hair?
[info]kathkin

HE DID. He loved his hair. I bet he spent a fortune on hair-care products to make it smell good. : D And I bet Hephaiston liked to pet it. And he probably let him do it all the time. Then sometimes Hephaiston would try and do it in front of people and he'd be all NO NO SAVE IT FOR THE BEDROOM.

I want to pet his hair. D:

(Revison-induced insanity is rapidly setting in. I always knew studying classics would drive me mad...)

EDIT: A direct result of said madness is my inability to remember that not everyone will recognise Alexander the great when they see him. ;^_^ Yes, that is who it is. And he really was proud of his hair TO THE MAX. Honest.

-x-

So Ninja Assassin was awesome. Some one brought their young son into watch it, and ten minutes later he was literally retching and being whisked out the door. XD;

SO FREAKING GOOD, even though some of the act was stiff like hell. The action and the bleeding and the general awesome and reaslisticness in the fighting was enough for me.

Bawww tech is fail. I fell asleep twice because its all stupid theories and sdfsdf. :l give me something to take apart and put back together damnit.

Everytime I watch a video about the DS version of FFIV, it's like one constant facepalm. Aaaaaargh.
Screwed up CGI (oh noes at Yang's face), stupid 3-dimensional imagery, names of all the objects have changed, dialogue has been altered...actually, the last few of those are more or less like those in the GBA version.
Playing the one released in America, where Cain was actually Kain, and Yang actually sounded like someone jumping into action (rather than a bit of a pussy)...so much better.
Also I started panicking when I saw Cecil's extra Dark attack, and stuff like Yang's Buildup, I was like I DON'T WANT MORE OF THIS

Anyway, I just watched one of them all taking on Golbez. Just before Rydia rejoins them. Firstly, Golbez is somehow floating off the ground very unrealistically - or maybe he's wearing boots so stupidly black that they've camouflaged into the background. The artwork of the original SNES one was far superior, and that was in 2D. When 2D looks better than 3D, you know you're going down. :3

I have a feeling all I do here is rant on about games, so I'll try to stop doing that for a bit. Although, I AM confused at why the levelling is so different - in DS, you have to be around level 40 to take on Golbez then, rather than 20 or 30 something in the original. And on battling the Four Fiends for the last time, you're at level 80...rather than in the 50s. I never even saw level 80. The levelling certainly seems to be different - either that or there's something even more dreadful stuck inside.

So, no uni today due to both my lecturers being away.
I thought I'd played all the SNES RPGs, but no! I found one just today called Treasure Hunter G, something like that. Awesome graphics. But...but...you make money by catching frogs in the bushes and SELLING them to be EATEN.
HOW CAN I BETRAY MY RACE LIKE THIS
HOW
...and I just made about 115 gold off the ones I did sell. NOOOOOOOOOO

Dual Orb II is another one I ought to keep playing - my party became so unstable, I had an invincible warrior, an invincible cleric who kept running out of healing, a girl from the future with a gun, and a thief with stats so bad they spelt out a negative l33t.
Tehe. I like strategic ones too, like Front Mission (which I never got far in) and Bahamut Lagoon, and yes, that other one with EXTREMELY BAD TRANSLATIONS. What was it called?...Feda, the emblem of justice.

Ahaahahaa. There was a curiously funny clip from Prince of Persia 2 someone made: www.youtube.com/watch
Man, I never even saw that glitch. Still can't work out to put text in the link.

 • 15:33 @dayari Magical blindness wut? You have me curious now... #
 • 15:38 @dayari Unfortunately for us all my exams go on for another two weeks. No writing. Even if I did just get an insanely awesome plot bunny. #
 • 15:39 @dayari Also, I believe I had already read that fic, but I will do so again shortly. :D #
 • 15:42 My Greek essay is down to 2007 words. >_< That will do. Rome Essay is 2057, which is slightly too long still. #
 • 15:45 @dayari I got the bunny yesterday. Unfortunately it has no magical blindness, but it does have: kittens, fairies, bone necklaces... #
 • 15:46 @dayari ...demons, portals to other dimensions, octopus-snake-woman-monsters, volcanoes, Geoffrey of Monmouth, a rain of blood, a lake... #
 • 15:47 @dayari ...Snow, mountains, Etruscan names, Norse Mythology, forests in abundance, giant mushrooms, magic rocks, Merlin as a mad seer... #
 • 15:48 @dayari ...And Arthur in a suit. Can you tell that it would be kind of epic if I wrote it? #
 • 15:48 2026 words. I am going to go with that. They won't count. And if they do I will claim that oh, but my wordcounter said it was under! #
 • 15:55 @dayari Arthur is in a suit and Morgana is a badass huntress chick, lolwut. Possibly I will rework it into original fic, though. #
 • 16:26 @dayari It's mostly that I have created a rather detailed fantasy world and I'm not sue I want to squander it on fanfic. #
 • 16:56 @dayari If you are interested I now have alternate names for every character except Merlin. He will be hard. #
 • 16:59 Merlin=Marce. Pronounced Mar-cay. And yeah I am going to keep rambling on about my new story idea. #
 • 17:01 I do tend to forget somtiems that not every has studied Latin and therefore not everyone will automatically know how to pronounce it. >_> #
 • 17:13 @dayari As you may have guessed, what with the suit he is not from the same place. He is Benjamin, which is always my choice for him. #
 • 17:14 @dayari Also, I am trying to choose between Cae/Cai and Larth for Gaius (see they are Etruscan names and Cae = Gaius in Etruscan...). #
 • 17:38 @dayari See I think 'Larth' suits him better. Also, Morgana = Laucie, Gwen = Thana and Lancelot = Kavie. #
 • 18:38 Now I am researching Etruscan language. *research research research* #

Anyoen interested in looking over a short piece (about 1500 words, but may go up a bit shortly) of sci-fi? It's for the TDF Holiday Exchange. : ) I'd post there, but it's supposed to be secret (and the recipient is not on my flist so all is good).

It has aliens and robots and a technopath and xenophobia and a giant motherfucking space ship. : D Any takers?

Yesterday was freaking perfect. I left the house at 6:30 in the morning when everyone was asleep and didn't get back until 11 at night ... when everyone was asleep~

Bloo and I ran off for some massive Christmas shopping at the King of Prussia Mall. -Think Mall of America minus the theme park. HUGE. There's like 3 Borders in that place XD And I did a dance like a tard because they're Hot Topic doesn't follow the cookie cutter pattern and their employees hide all the emo crap along the back wall. Y HELLO MURDERDOLLS JACKET. YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL. AND ONLY 12 DOLLARS. Pity I don't get it until Christmas.

I basically had no money to do any shopping, so it was all Bloo getting crap for his family and sneaking getting what he got me. Hmm, Small box. I do believe its a shiny ring I've been pining for. Man the Apple/Mac store had a line wrapped around the mall, and it amused me to know end.

Pathetically, the highlight of my trip was eating at Five Guys. ;___; Omg, the amount of happy my stomach had, you have no idea. I have not eaten at a Five Guys since last summer.

And the comic book store had 'cards' for seances and he got all weird when I asked questions about how trading cards would summon the ghost of ur mom. Seriously, it was some weird shit even for a DnD nurd store.

UM some weird lady from the massage studio was randomly attacking people with shoulder rubs to try and get them to her store.

http://www.stuffemal.com/cgi-bin/store/pid_126.htm DO WANT.

Today, however. Sucked. It started by me trying to enjoy my last day off before jumping into Tech which is roughly a ... 1400 hour program? Two hours away, commute. and i's 8-3 so I REALLY wanted to enjoy today, bad. So my mom thinks its a good idea to call and scream and tell me I'm being thrown out because I'm not home to babysit my 15 year old sister who has an earache.

Really mom?

Ahaha. And then she has the nerve to dictate when the hell I'm coming home tonight. If she keeps that shit up I'm coming home drunk >___> But do not want hangover for the long drive tommorow. baaah.

I'm going to fail at all the techincal/science talk at school someone shoot me.

Oh and if the eye doctor can correct my depth perception problem I won't be able to drive.

Maths methods and Castlevania
[info]adrian_and_sela
I have the most delightful and happyful grin on my face whenever I'm in this class. Maths Methods. I don't care what anyone says, I simply adore this class. I was actually on time today. Well. Sort of. Let's just say I wasn't late, like usual. Everytime I slither in twenty minutes late I feel so awful.
Which I wouldn't usually, but this is MATHS METHODS.
It's not the teacher, because there was somebody else teaching it last year and I still loved every moment of it, despite how long-winded and time-consuming so much of it was. It's the subject.

No wonder I can't stand Measure Theory. The guy teaching Measure Theory hates Maths Methods. :3

I was going to talk about what game now...Castlevania. Oh yes. You know, I absolutely love RPGs. Probably my favourite genre - the only thing being that the games are exceedingly long, but that's part of what it makes so epic.

The new Castlevania ones for GBA (should I say "more recent") are in some kind of RPG-style, with EXP and levelling and potions and such...and I really don't like it. It's Castlevania. It's got savepoints and stuff, but it never USED to. How can you turn a classic platformer into an RPG just like that?

It certainly doesn't feel right, either. I don't WANT to collect healing potions. I don't want to go around killing obstinately stupid monsters until I suddenly get better - also, there seems to be a bloody map of the entire place, like Super Metroid. Now, I love Super Metroid, but Castlevania is nowhere near that kind of level of awesome. You're supposed to have one path, like all the other games! Platformer with a MAP?

And where's Kevin gone? Instead I'm faced with this revoltingly hot-looking character who looked like he wandered out of Vampire Knight. And every other character looks like a vampire; I'm *slightly* sick of vampires. Kevin was better. He killed vampires, for goodness sake.

On the other hand, this vampire-character thing that I'm controlling does have this cool whipping cloak thing. And like a Shunpo ability, even if it keeps pushing him in the wrong direction.
Nah. I'll stick to old-skool. As usual.

by MS Word's count: 80,250

by NaNoWriMo's count: 80,612

counting other story-type things: 87,280

counting essays: 90,824

See, I got to 75K yesterday, then today I was GOING to write another thousand words, then call it a day for Autumn and work on something else for a while... then I realised that I had two and a half hours left till midnight, and four thousand words till eighty thousand. And I can do 2000 words an hour if I push myself. TOTALLY. DOABLE.

And look! Made it! With half an hour to spare! *goes to read fic* \o/

I didn't realise today the extent to which I have lost mind mind this month. I think me and [info]macey_muse terrified the people at create soc a bit 9the amount of sugar I ingested what with the Christmas party and all didn't help). Also I suspect some of them STILL think that [info]gnimaerd was molesting me. XD
